hello netflix

Up until last night Mr. Reece and I have been supporters and fans of the Blockbuster movie rental system. We thought it was great that you could get movies in the mail and then return them at the store so you would have a film while you wait for your other film to come in the mail.

Well, last night we learned that Netflix up'd the ante. You can now watch movies instantly on your PC, Mac or XBOX. It's like Christmas, do you know how many TV series you can have at once in your instant queue? It's ridiculous, ridiculously wonderful. Thank you sweet Netflix.

On a side note, while you are browsing the millions of titles available to rent, Netflix also has a section of most popular movies rented in your city. Here are Provo's top 6. Really Provo? Are we really that big of a stereotype?

a valentine I can get behind

I do not like Valentines day. Never have, I just don't get it and I refuse to celebrate it. And then when I became a florist, I really didn't get it because they pretty much quadruple prices on flowers and take advantage of the situation (seriously, never buy flowers on Valentines or Mother's day, you are getting ripped off.) However, while I was in New York at the gift show, I came across these delightful valentines by Yee-Haw that I really would be pleased to receive. Get them here.

Also, I feel that I should elaborate on my dislike of Valentines. This is not a result of not being 'recognized' on valentines day, my darling husband always remembers what is important. I just think Valentines day has gotten way out of hand, and now its like as long as a gentlemen takes his lady out on Valentines then all of his sins are forgiven. And some of the lady folk have taken this to the ridiculous, and put some seriously unreal expectations on this supposed day of love. I guess I just don't think you need a sanctioned day of love to show the ones you love how much you love them.

in the kitchen

I have an addiction to kitchen gadgets. It is a bit ridiculous but I do use them all, and I hope to be using all of these very soon.

New Year

Have I mentioned that I like paper? I do, a lot. And I just picked up this beautiful calendar from Orange Beautiful's Etsy Shop. When you are done with a month the bottom dates just tear off leaving you with a gorgeous print. Nothing like a great calendar!

this ought to clear things up

I'm thinking of having this made and wearing it all the time. It ought to clear up the immense confusion about how to say my name, and I wouldn't have to think about what to wear in the morning. Win-win.

baby steps

A few of my friends have had babies lately, and that got me looking for some great gifts to bestow on the little ones. While perusing the vastness of the internet, I stumbled upon what very well may be the cutest shoes ever. I am already a sucker for all things felt, but these make me seriously consider having a child. (Is it wrong for retail to inspire motherhood?)

Aurelia & Annalise, who of course are on Etsy offer a great selection of these darling shoes for very reasonable prices. They also have adorable hair clips , bands and hats. Find them here.

days of christmas

A fine pair

I adore these Hunter boots, classic British style that you can find at Soel or Zappos for about $115.00 a pair. Not to bad for wellies that have been around since 1817.

There are also these fine replicas from Target, they are really cute and there are lots of colors to choose from. And since Target is not upholding a century long standard of style, you can get them for about $24.99 plus shipping.

Seasons Greetings with Webtations

I just want to thank Nicole for introducing me to Webtations. I love them! And I am now kicking myself for not thinking of it first.

It's genius, you pick from one of the many great designs, pay, download and personalize. You can even print it on your own printer! I recently bought a card and was SO impressed with the service. So if you are like me and have given absolutely no thought to your Christmas cards and are wondering if you can even get them out in time, just go to Webtations and print them out yourself!

Check them out here.
