superstitious

Photobucket

I have never been superstitious, irrational yes, but weird fears of specific calendar dates no. When we decided to get married on Friday the 13th (of May) several people were adamantly opposed to this apparently disastrous decision. "Are you sure? You know you want to start out on the right foot, are you sure you want to jinx your marriage like that?" I was under the impression that we were in the 21st century and didn't really take stock in such silliness. And so my darling husband and I decided to challenge fate and we tied the knot on Friday the 13th. It has been delightful ever since.

I am thinking of hanging this vintage Friday the 13th poster in my living room, I just think that would be really nice and inviting, don't you?

four years ago

Luke and I got engaged. Aw, aren't we cute. I love the second picture with my mom, grandma and aunt all just a twitter over the occasion.

On a side note, if you haven't seen Say Anything, stop what you are doing and go rent it. You won't be sorry.

carpe dentum

Photobucket

I wish I had listened to my mother, every time she told me how important it was to floss.
I ignored a cavity (probably brought about by my non-flossing) and one day while chomping on a tortilla chip, that tooth cracked in half.
Several hundred dollars and three painful dentist visits later I am swollen up like a chipmunk and strung out on IB profin, wishing I had flossed and waiting for the inevitable "well Mrs. Reece we are probably going to have to pull that tooth after all" from my dentist. So dear friends, care for those 32 friends of yours and floss properly.

Conference Weekend

Another great conference weekend, Luke was gone the entire weekend translating for conference and I was yet again a conference widow. Thanks to Heather & Ryan giving me amazing tickets to the Sunday afternoon session, my mom and I were able to go. Singing with 20,000 people is quite the experience, it really was incredible. Afterward Temple Square was abuzz with fresh faced latter day saints enjoying the afternoon and all for a moment united in a desire to do better. I love being at Temple square, I have been there a million times, seen hundreds of pictures and still it is one of my favorite places to be.

A day off

Luke and I had a day off together which lately have been few and far between, so we headed up to SLC. We had a lovely lunch at ACME Burger (veggie burger is amazing thanks Nicci for recommending) which was indeed anything but ordinary and quite tasty as well. We walked around Temple Square around sunset it was gorgeous and hardly anyone was there, it was a great afternoon.

3 years

This key was given to us at the Little America in Salt Lake. Apparently 3 years ago Luke got hitched to some chick named Niikel. . . so congrats to them. Seeing as Luke is one of the 5 people who actually knows how to say and spell my name, I guess I picked the right guy! Happy Anniversary dear!
