Here a few things that I am sure all of you have heard about all ready but I am just discovering and therefore want to talk about it so bear with me.
Hulu is amazing. The poor mans Tivo, I love it so much.
Community is hilarious. And turns out Joel McHale is not only funny he is cut. rrrrrrawr.
The soundtrack to Crazy Heart is tremendous.
Now I love me some Sandra Bullock, but Meryl was robbed. (And yes I just saw The Blind Side, and yes I am one of the only people on the planet that still hasn't seen Avatar. So when I do finally see it I will probably post about it too.)
LaLa is the greatest thing ever. Thanks Steve.
And now I will leave you with a picture of my sweet little Hudson, have a lovely day!

an opportunity
As you all know I love to blog and therefore I love to blogstalk. I am sure many of you have readers just like I do that display the bounty that the blog world has to offer. While a lot of it is inconsequential like design, fashion, crafts and the like I feel like the for the most part blogs are about people. They are about what we hold most dear, the people in our lives. They are about our friends, children, aunts, grandmothers, dad's and all the experiences that make us who we are. I love the sense of community that blogs have, when Stephanie Nielson of the famed Nie Nie dialoges was in her terrible accident; thousands of people were checking her blog to see how she, her husband and her family were doing. Many who know and love her, but many more who didn't but simply wanted a good outcome for her family. People could donate, and they did which is an extraordinary kindness on it's own, but it was the number of people praying for Stephanie and her family that I found to be miraculous.
I love what my dear friend Kristen wrote on her blog:
"A prayer is an intention and an intention is a force and a prayer carries with it a lot of energy. And energy makes things happen. You know, it's the simplest thing you could do but also the one with the greatest power."
And so, when I come across a story like this one I see an opportunity to help, or at the very least an opportunity to add my prayers and good intentions for another person. Please go to Jonathan Canlas's blog and read her story, it is amazing.

just about there
Spring is so close! It was so beautiful outside today, I was wishing I had one of these to scoot around on. I am also wishing for 70 degree weather was here to stay, but it's supposed to storm Tuesday. Crazy Utah spring weather. You Californians should count your blessings.

m.i.a.
As you have probably noticed I have been a little absent from the blog for awhile. I am sure you have all been distraught and anxiously awaiting my return. Well, I am working on it. But I have had a few setbacks. Some of which were design related (I am trying to give this tired old blog a makeover, but it is not going as planned) and some of which were due to a nagging pain in my tooth.
Last year while I was about eight weeks pregnant (and pretty darn miserable) I had to have a root canal with no anesthesia. Luke and I had not shared the good news with anyone yet, not even our parents. So the friendly folks at my dentists office were the first to find out our good news. They were so excited for me, and they were SO sweet to me during the root canal. They wiped my the sweat from my brow and held my hand while I cried (and by the way that root canal was like a million times worse than giving birth.) They accidentally outed my pregnancy to my mother who went back in to the dentists office looking for my cell phone. When she came back out to the car she looked like a deer in headlights drove two blocks pulled over and started squealing with delight that I was pregnant. I was in too much pain at the moment to care that the girls at the dentists office had given my mom the best news of her life. I'm still mad that I didn't get to tell my mom, oh well there's always baby number two right?
So to my dismay, we had to celebrate the festival of pain of last year with a root canal this year. I was so nervous all I could think about was the excruciating pain of last year, I wanted out. I knew it was only going to get worse so I girded my loins and headed off to my dentist. I got so nervous in the waiting room just thinking about the pain that was to come.
They sat me in my chair and offered me an Ipod to listen too, I asked if I could listen to mine, they said of course so I began searching for music I wanted to listen to during my torture. But all I could find were episodes of 30Rock. I figured listening to 30Rock would be almost as good as watching them so I turned it on. And then they turned on the laughing gas, and then they gave me Novocain. I have never laughed so hard in my life, I was having another root canal and I was crying again but only because the hilarity of Tina Fey is so much funnier while nitrous oxide is being pumped into your lungs.
Needless to say this years root canal went much better, no big surprises were spoiled and I didn't want to crawl into a hole and die afterwards. I just hope this isn't becoming some perverse tradition.
I hope to be back blogging by next week, we shall see.

food rules
This book is so great. And before you roll your eyes, this isn't just some nutzo hippie vegetarian view of eating, it's just a guide to good eating (that includes meat, and "junk food" as long as you make it yourself, with the idea that it is work to make it so you won't make it very often.)
It's a really quick read and a very good reference for healthy eating. Happy eating.

slab pizza
The good folks that brought you Rooster have opened Slab Pizza and it is really, really good. So good that I could not be bothered to take my own picture of the deliciousness that was my pie (mostly because I ate it so fast) so I had to steal this one from their blog. Looks scrumptious doesn't it? It is!
We had the New Mexico green chili, and the Thai Chicken (sans the chicken) both were absolutely delicious and the best part is you don't have to buy the whole pie (but you will want to), you can order by the quarter slice or "slab." Check out their menu here. We love it there and hope you will all try it soon!
