things are looking up

Sorry about that Debbie downer post, I am feeling much better today because of these:



It's amazing what a perfectly made waffle (courtesy of my mother) and your grandmothers homemade jam can do for you in the middle of a glorious General Conference weekend (not to mention I had my final procedure on my tooth, hooray!)

I am also extremely excited because, there will be another little red in the world! Congratulations Marianne & Aaron I cannot wait to meet this little one!



Also, pardon me for not having it together enough to share the waffle and the jam recipe with you. They are definitely worth sharing and I will get on it.

march was the worst

March started out ok, these lovely people came over to help me celebrate my 26th.





I also got to go to my favorite bakery and eat some of their delightful sweets, if you haven't been to Backers in SLC you should definitely make the trip.




I got to take pictures of this adorable child (who by the way posed himself this way, I think he might know how cute he is.)



And then sometime around the second week, my tooth started to hurt (again, different tooth, but again.)

The husband and I got to go down to St. George with some of our friends, which would have been great, if my tooth had not decided to inflict me with mind numbing pain.



Long story short, I had about the worst three weeks ever and I had to have 4 procedures to finish 1 root canal. It was the WORST!


Oh yeah, and I got to go to L.A. for work, but there aren't any pictures of that because my boss and I were a little out of commission (she incidentally had to have her tooth pulled the same week, had a horrible time recovering from that) so basically we went to the show, came back to hotel, slept, ate (only because we had to, eating was not fun) and then went right back to sleep for the night. Yep, good times.

I am really looking forward to April.

physics & dinner

Thanks to our dear Clifford's for a wonderful dinner party, and thanks to the iPhone for the entertainment. We were all facinated with touch physics, which if you have not had the opportunity to play you are missing out.

May we all pause for a moment to enjoy the cuteness that is the Clifford's son Morgan. He is just the best, seriously we wanted to take him home. Thanks again Clifford's!

a bit scattered

I have so many recipes, photos, products, and goodness to post about. I've just been a bit scattered lately and so I have not had time to gather my thoughts into posts (and thanks to Friday Night Lights my spare time has been occupied.) So I will see you good people Wednesday with much better content!

but I don't even like football

Thanks to our dear Emily Mr. Reece and I have a new obsession, Friday Night Lights. Turns out I do like football when the games last about five minutes and are set to dramatic music. Mr. Reece is particularly pleased that I now know how one achieves two first downs. Watch this show, it will change your life and quite possibly your accent.

Meet my great-grandparents, Cap & Bertha Blohm. The top photo is of my great-grandmother in Africa, Nambia to be exact. According to my great-grandfathers journal she insisted in having her photo taken next to a termite hill.


You have to admire a woman who will wear heels and demand to be photographed near what is essentially a dung heap, maybe she liked the contrast.
These kind of photographs are one of the big reasons I want to pursue photography, they are so rich and beautiful.

ladies night in

I was admittedly a little wary of joining the Facebook. It seemed a little odd, and I already have this blog, so why did I need another self promoting cyber page? To find Kjerstin and Lauren. My two friends that I spent countless hours watching VH1, (before it became the ses pool of debauchery that it is now) playing Mario Paint (if you don't know what Mario Paint is, I pity you) and drinking Diet Coke. I am so tickled to be back in contact with these tremendous ladies, thanks Facebook!

p.s. Kjerstin, what do you think of me hiring you to write for me? My mother says that all my posts are filled with grammatical atrocities so I think I need some professional help.

My favorite Oscar gowns from this evenings festivities, aren't they are amazing?! And to top it all off the Oscars were amazingly entertaining and they actually didn't go to long. Wouldn't it be weird if the Oscars won an Emmy?
